Nathaniel R. Huckel-Bauer
Nate is a native New Englander who was born in Rhode Island but moved to Maine before high school. He received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College in 1999. Between graduating from Dartmouth and attending law school, Nate worked as a legal assistant at a large law firm in New York City and then volunteered as an AmeriCorps Volunteer at the Upper Valley Land Trust in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Nate graduated from Vermont Law School, magna cum laude, in 2006 and was admitted to the Maine Bar that same year. While at VLS he was a member of the Vermont Law Review and was the recipient of numerous Academic Excellence Awards.
Nate joined the firm in August 2006. His practice is focused on assisting business clients with establishing new business entities, preparing contracts, buying and selling business assets, resolving disputes and protecting their trademarks and other intellectual property. He also helps individuals and businesses with real estate matters such as purchasing, leasing and developing residential and commercial property; resolving title disputes; negotiating easements; and representing parties at planning board and zoning board hearings. He is an active member of the Board of Propel, the young members' group of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he has served as vice president of the board and assisted in the production of the Entreverge Awards.
Nate enjoys many of the outdoor activities Maine has to offer, especially biking, cross-country skiing, walking to work, kayaking and picking his own fruit at the many "pick-your-own" fruit farms and festivals around Cumberland County. He lives with his wife and young kids in Portland's West End. They are regular attendees of First Friday Art Walk, the various Portland farmers’ markets and other events around town.
