Arthur A. Cerullo, Partner

Arthur has been practicing law with the firm since his graduation from Franklin Pierce Law Center, now part of the University of New Hampshire, in Concord, New Hampshire in 1981. Before attending law school he was a chemical process engineer at Raytheon Engineering in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He holds both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University. While an engineer, he was awarded a year-long fellowship in Citizen Environmental Advocacy at Tufts University.

His areas of practice include corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, banking law, commercial workouts and collections, real estate, wills, trusts, and estates, probate litigation, as well as intellectual property and domestic relations. He has taught graduate level business law as well as certification courses and seminars on banking and real estate law. He is admitted to the State and Federal Bars in Maine and Massachusetts as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Arthur is active in community affairs on the local, state, regional and national levels. He was involved in bringing the Liberty Ship Memorial to South Portland and served as president of his parish council for five years. He has been a long time volunteer for the Pine Tree Burn Foundation, serving terms as president and treasurer and is now a Trustee Emeritus. Additionally, he has volunteered for more than 20 years with the American Lung Association, serving locally as president of the Maine Lung Association when the organization was instrumental in negotiating the state tobacco settlement. He helped the state chapter expand regionally into the American Lung Association of New England and received the National Volunteer Excellence Award for his efforts. He is a board member of the New England Lung Association and a national representative for New England. On the national level, Arthur has served as Speaker of the National Assembly and is presently a National Board Member, Vice Chair of Advocacy and Clerk of the national American Lung Association. He has traveled all over the United States to meet with and testify on behalf of ALA to local and national decision makers for healthier air and more effective control of tobacco products.

An avid cyclist, Arthur has ridden in more that 20 Treks Across Maine since 1989 for the ALA in Maine. He commutes throughout much of the year by bicycle from his home in North Yarmouth where he resides with his wife, Mary.
